Following a Salt Fish Breakfast at the Hartwood Presbyterian Church, Commander Del Toro (ret.) taught a class of Girl Scouts and presented them with Merit Badges following the class.
Del Toro taught the Cadette/Citizenship Merit Badge, and went over the history of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Star-Spangled Banner, the importance of our freedoms as Americans, as well as important women in our history. With over 15 Girl Scouts and their families in attendance, Del Toro led a crowded room as the Hartwood Days Festival kicked-off.
“I have four boys and all of them are scouts. I have two Eagle Scouts, a Life Scout and a Boy Scout, so the Scouts are something I want to be involved in as a contributing member to this community. And it honors me to present Merit Badges to this great group of Girl Scouts here today.”

Veterans for Del Toro is a group of retired servicemembers who are committed to bringing focus, commitment and passion to the Virginia Legislature by helping elect Commander Carlos Del Toro (Ret).
