Voters of the 88th District in Stafford, Spotsylvania, and Fauquier counties have an opportunity for positive change in the Virginia House of Delegates this November.
Carlos Del Toro is running to bring responsive and common-sense representation to the 88th District.
Carlos' story is remarkable. His parents fled communist Cuba when he was a toddler after his father was charged as an anti-Castro activist.
Despite growing up in New York City's Hell's Kitchen, Carlos excelled as a student and was accepted to the Naval Academy. After a 26-year naval career that included command of the AEGIS destroyer USS Bulkeley, Carlos began life as CEO of an engineering services firm.
He has lived in Stafford for more than 10 years, and his children attend the public schools there. His wife, Betty, is a substitute teacher in the public school system. Education is a top priority for Carlos.
Carlos has served his community. He is a past president and current member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Capital Chapter. During his tenure as president, the Capital Chapter raised more than $5 million
He also serves on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Council on Small Business, where he advocates for improved health care, reliable infrastructure, and simpler tax policies for small and growing businesses.
The 88th District needs new pro-active representation in Richmond that is willing to work for bipartisan long-term solutions to problems like transportation while protecting education and essential services. Vote for Carlos Del Toro this November.
