Commander Del Toro met thousands of constituents in Spotsylvania, Stafford and Fauquier counties while celebrating our Independence Day with community members and his family.
On July 1, Del Toro attended the annual Stars and Stripes event in Spotsylvania, where he met hundreds of constituents, other local leaders, local firefighters and rescue units. The annual celebration in Spotsylvania attracts thousands from the region and Del Toro moved about the event from the tents, to the food stands, to the live music immersing himself in the crowd.
Del Toro and a bunch of entusiastic volunteers spent the morning of July 4 walking in the annual Fredericksburg Heritage Festival parade. Running from one side of Caroline St. to the other, Del Toro shook the hands of hundreds, while his volunteers passed out literature.
Del Toro met many new faces interested in his campaign and his vision for the 88th District. He also ran into many folks he had met before, who recognized him from knocking on their door!
Del Toro spent the evening with his wife and four children in Fauquier County to watch the fireworks display. As an immigrant from Castro’s Cuba, Del Toro finds our Independence Day to be one of the most powerful American holidays and spending the evening with his family in appreciation of our freedoms was “a perfect finish to a great holiday,” Del Toro said.
